Criteria for Achiever Awards:
The programme must be recognised as a leader in the sector and is judged on the following:
• Contribution and benefits to society
• Creativity and/or innovation that had positive or far-reaching results
• Commitment to SA’s economic and social development goals
• Produced results that are sustainable
• Uses the triple bottom line (people, planet, profits) in the approach to projects
• Social consciousness and involvement
• Likely to make a visible contribution to South African life in the next 10 years.
Only organisations operating within South African qualify to enter
Eligibility and judging
Who can be nominated?
The Achiever Awards recognise and reward training programmes within companies. Any training programme
in the public or private sector can be nominated.
Who can make a nomination?
Anyone can nominate a training programme for an Achiever Award.
Who will judge the nominations?
An independent judging panel made up of experts from the further education system will asess the entries. Nominations will be judged on how well they meet the published criteria for each category and not against each other.
What does the winning programme receive?
The wining programme receives a full page, full-colour profile within the Skills & Training Supplement that is being distributed with Achiever
magazine (10 000 copies) and to all participants.
